Hail Mary Prayer

The Hail Mary is a central prayer in the Roman Catholic Church and is also used in the Anglican, Eastern Orthodox, and other Christian traditions. The prayer is composed of two main parts: the first is taken from the Gospel of Luke (1:28 and 1:42), and the second part was added later by the Church.

The prayer goes as follows:

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee;
blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
